Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Shen Minjuan Attends the Welcome and Farewell Reception for the Secretaries-General of the ASEAN-China Centre

On August 18, 2026, Director-General of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry Shen Minjuan attended upon invitation the welcome and farewell reception hosted by the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) for its new Secretary-General Zhang Lizhong and outgoing Secretary-General Shi Zhongjun.

Shen Minjuan stated that under the joint attention and strategic guidance of the leaders of the two sides, China-ASEAN cooperation has always been at the forefront of regional cooperation, with tangible outcomes that benefit the people of all countries. China is ready to work with ASEAN to build a peaceful, tranquil, prosperous, beautiful and friendly home, promote the building of a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future, and contribute positive energy to regional development and global governance. She expressed the hope that the ACC will play a greater role in the development of China-ASEAN relations.

Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh delivered remarks on behalf of ASEAN, spoke highly of the ACC’s work, and expressed the hope that the two sides will take the fifth anniversary of the China-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership as an opportunity to further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and create a better future together.
